VISION:

GEEZ Louise encourages women & girls to find their voices, create shared power, learn skills, & lead Central Iowa from intolerance to acceptance & celebration.

GEEZ Louise!’s programming has a strong feminist foundation based on female responsive programming, female development, youth development and youth/adult partnerships.  GEEZ Louise! has the experience and knowledge to effectively program for women of all ages.  Staff at GEEZ Louise! know that women define themselves in relationships, that sometimes relationships are what hold us together, that many women experienced a self-esteem crisis’ during their teen years, and that boundaries and accountability are extremely important.   GEEZ Louise! also understands how culture, sexual orientation and economic status affect women’s lives including how they experience gender.  GEEZ Louise! believes that well trained staff are needed to provide effective programs.

Lori A Rinehart

Lori A. Rinehart serves as the Executive Director for GEEZ Louise.  Lori has been an advocate for female-responsive programming for young women involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems for 25 years.  She began this work in Iowa’s Department of Humans Services’ foster care system.  She also has worked in non-profit agencies and provides training nationwide on the needs of young women.  Lori chairs the Iowa Gender Specific Services Task Force which is a group seeking to assure that adolescent females in the juvenile justice system receive equitable services.   Lori serves as a Governor appointee on the Iowa Juvenile Justice Advisory Council.  She has been involved in after-school programming for young women for the past 10 years.
